Augusta Heights Baptist Church is a diverse community of God's people united by faith in Jesus Christ and empowered by the Holy Spirit. We believe in the power of prayer, the priesthood of all believers, the equality of all believers, and the responsibility of each believer to use his or her gifts to the glory of God.
Our purpose is to worship God, to grow spiritually, and to boldly share God's love through outreach, missions, and service.
I'm a recovering perfectionist and a functional coffee addict, trying to be the best husband (to Suzy), father (to Yates and Lennon), and pastor (at Augusta Heights) I can be. I'm also a Greenville native with a deep love for this community. I have an M.Div. from the Wake Forest University School of Divinity and a D.Min. from Drew University. I also serve on the Behavioral Health Coalition for the United Way of Greenville County, the board of Canterbury Counseling Center, and on the Ministries Council of the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship. In my spare time (what's that?!), I enjoy cooking and eating good food, exercising, traveling, watching and playing sports (especially rugby), and spending time with family and with people in general.
I am a Floridian who moved to South Carolina in 1999 to be closer to my family. I am married to Neal, who was born and lived in Memphis until we met and married. He has two sons, two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. I worked as a paralegal for several law firms, and retired from a firm after 17 years as a Project Manager, IT Trainer, and Support Technician. I enjoy walking (at least 4 miles a day!), reading, refinishing furniture, and several crafts (including making my own wreaths, cards, and jewelry). After retiring from my full-time job at the law firm, I found I missed working and started looking for the perfect part time job...which I found at Augusta Heights!

As a native South Carolinian, I am thrilled to be back home! I grew up in Greenwood, went to Furman University for my undergraduate, and then married a true Greenvillian (Michael). We have three wonderful children (West, Mattie, and Marian) who keep us on our toes! I have my M.Div in Christian Education from the Baptist Theological Seminary at Richmond (BTSR). I have also written a number of bible study series, Sunday school curriculums, and articles for congregations and publishing houses. My love and passion for ministry is with children and their families, and I believe that the most important role to which God has called us to is to be shepherds, guiding children on their journey to being disciples. In my free time, I love to sing, as well as spending time watching sports and being outside, enjoying time with the ones I love the most.
Hello all! I am originally from Greenville, SC, where I began my church musical training at Springfield Baptist Church. I am a public school high school choral teacher by profession, and hold an undergraduate degree in Music Education from the University of South Carolina and a Masters in Choral Conducting from Winthrop University. I have also done graduate work in church music at Lee University where I conducted the Evangelistic Singers during my studies. I have been at Augusta Heights since 2016 and am enjoying every minute of my time here! I also enjoy musical theater (I am actively involved with community theater), reading, traveling, working out, and spending time with my daughter.
