Christine's Corner: Thank You!

Five and a half years ago, I walked into the doors of Augusta Heights ready to embark on a new adventure, jumping feet first into full time church ministry. I was excited, yet nervous; hopeful, yet terrified. Within just days of being here, I realized that I had made a wonderful decision to be a part of this congregation, for both me and for my family.

You have allowed me the space to find my voice as a minister and to be heard. You have appreciated my gifts and given me the confidence to use them. You have been a safe place for me to grow, to learn, and sometimes make mistakes. In this season of my life, you have been exactly what I needed.

As I look back on my time here, there are so many things that I will take with me as I move into this next chapter of my life-the love of neighbor and how that can and should be lived out; the awareness that everyone should be loved; the intentionality of speaking for those whose voice is not heard. It was in this place that I experienced first hand all of this and I am forever changed.

So I say thank you-thank you for loving me, my family, and allowing us to be a part of such a loving and nurturing community of faith. Thank you for teaching me what is means to be a follower of Christ. Thank you for demonstrating the love of God to me. Thank you for being you! There is something truly special about this place and I am grateful to have been a part of it. I love you all.
