Christine's Corner: Racism and Social Unrest

Over the past 6 months, there have been many podcasts made, articles written, and Instagram and Facebook posts created on the racism and social unrest that has taken over our social climate (and let's be real, this has been happening for a long time, but people are finally waking up to all of this and wanting to take action!). I have found a number of articles, books, and other resources that can help us navigate this terrain as parents, grandparents, and educators. I will be sharing some of these over the next few weeks as a way to help us have the tools to have these conversations with the children in our lives.

Here is an article that can help us as we start the conversations. As Maya Angelou says "“Do the best you can until you know better. Then when you know better, do better.” So by beginning to have these conversations with our children, we are in fact "doing better."
